ANTIOCH, California — One woman is dead, and another is in the hospital after a shooting Thursday morning in Antioch, according to Antioch Police Department.
Around 4:28 a.m. officers responded to the 4400 block of Delta Fair Blvd. where they found the two women suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police immediately provided first aid as they called for paramedics.
One victim was rushed to the hospital. The other died of her injuries at the scene.
Both victims are African American women. One is the 55-year-old. The other is 28-years-old. Police did not say which one survived.
The area is blocked off from the public as investigators examine the scene.
The local news says Child Protective Services arrived on scene at 9:00 a.m.
